- What platform will you run on it (windows or mac)?
- How much RAM would it have?
- How much hard drive space would you like?
- How big will the screen be?
- What programs will you install?
- How fast is the processor?
- Do you need a savage graphics card?
Make sure you keep within a reasonable affordable budget (so don't tell me you want 32GB of RAM or 10TB of space!).
Cheers

Monitor size: 24'
Programs to be installed: Photoshop, Games, Microsoft ofice
Processor: Quad Core 2.8ghz

Screen: 24 inches
Programs: adobe, Microsoft,itunes, internet explorer.
processor: Quad core
Graphics:Geforce GTX 285
BOTH hahaha....well both PC, the mac and windows are great in their own way.
ReplyDeleteRAM doesnt bother me....because i dont need much space for games or other applications because i dont play games or download much applications.
hard drive space..wouldnt bother me much as well but the bigger it has..the better. i dont have much specific needs for a computer because i dont use much of the comp application but the internet i use much more often and requires the need. i just want fast internet.so i can download vids, music, chat and just blog!
Oh the Bigger the screen is..the better..but it would depend on my budget and how much im allowed to have to buy the screen.
if it was as big as a TV..its TOO big but if its just a size of maybe just a little bigger than normal size comp. it would be good.
for me..the only type of comp i would like to have if a laptop.. i dont care about what PC or the size of the screen.
Program?.....i dont care of what program..haha
i just like it if it was the best program it already has...and it has good and user-friendly usage..
as fast as any computer can go...i want that! haha...well the most friendly user and good to search almost anything..i would love to have it.
nah i dont need no savage graphics card..even though i dont know what it is..i dont think i'll need it.
My perfect pc will be easy for me to use and it will have a large screen so then I don’t have to strain my eyes to do daily work on it
ReplyDelete,I will be using window as it is easier for me to use and easier for me to understand. And windows are good for every day use.
My computer is going to have 3 GB of ram so then it is able to store all of my information.
I am going to have about 20 GB of hardware space on my computer,
I am going to get a 25 inch screen so then I don’t need to strain my eyes.
i am going to run Microsoft because in Microsoft I will be able to get all of the other little things like windows and things like that.
I am going to use a quad core 1.4 GHz
I will need GE force 1GB graphics
My dream computer? Ahh yeah ok, seeing that I would only be using my computer for the complete most basic tasks like listening to music, doing assignments and maybe watching a few movies I wouldn’t really need anything to special for it, well that plus I’m pretty much computer illiterate. But for this task I will tell you what my dream computer would be, Not that I dream about computers ( I leave that to Mr. Franco when all the new Mac stuff comes out). I would have a PC, I guess for the sake of this task I would have a Dell slim studio desktop computer which can be brought on the Dell website for $999.00 which is pretty awesome, I think. The Specs of this particular computer are
ReplyDelete• Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo Processor E7500 (2.93GHz, 1066FSB, 3MB)I
• Pre-Loaded Genuine Windows Vista(R) Home Premium 32 bit OEM Version
• 3GB (3x1GB) DDR2 800MHz SDRAM Memory
• 500GB SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive with Native Command Queuing
• Dell(TM) ST2010-BLK 20 " HD Widescreen Flat Panel Monitor
• Integrated Intel(R) Graphics Media Accelerator X4500 HD
• 16X DVD + /-RW with Dual Layer Write Capabilities
• McAfee(R) Security Center 10 (Multi Language) - 30 days
• 1 Yr Ltd Hardware Warranty, InHome Service after Remote Diagnosis
In a Perfect world
ReplyDelete1. This system would some virtualization software e.g VMWare which would allow windows mac and linux operating systems to work at the click of a boot menu choice.
- Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit
- Mac OS X Snow Leopard
- Ubuntu Linux 9.04
2. The RAM would be 2x6GB Triple DDR3 2000Mhz KHX-Kingston
3. The primary Storage would be an Intel 80GB SSD 2.5 (Solid State Drive)
2x 2TB Western Digital Black Edition 64MB Cache 7,200RPM Hard Drives
4. I would have a dual monitor setup consisting of 2x Dell UltraSharp 24 inch Widescreen monitors.
5. I would install industry standard programs along with all my games (too many list)
6. For the processor I have chosen the Intel core i7 Extreme 975 CPU 3.33Ghz 4 core with hyper-threading
7. I believe I do need a "Savage" graphics card. I am a proud gamer and need the best available. GeForce GTX 295 dual chip graphics card.
I agree with Amy, i really don't use computers, unless for homework and assignment purposes, facebook and that inbuilt calculator. So really, i just need something that gets the job done and has loads of storage space.
ReplyDeleteSo...
PLATFORM: Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition
RAM: 2048MB DDR
HARD DIRVE: 320GB Hard Disk Drive
SCREEN: 22" WIDESCREEN LCD screen
PROGRAMS: Mircosoft Office, iTunes, a web brower and messenger!
PROCESSOR: Intel® Core 2 Quad Q8200 2.33Ghz Processor
GRAPHIC CARD: Probs not.
Platform: Windows XP
ReplyDeleteRAM: 4-8 GB of RAM should be more than enough
Hard drive space: At least 500GB
Monitor: Doesn’t really matter, 24 inch should be fine.
Programs: Games, Microsoft Office, Adobe (Photoshop, etc.), Windows Media Player (if it’s not already on there), Anti-virus programs, Mozilla Firefox, MSN
Processor: Quad Core 3GHz
Graphics card: Probably wouldn’t have to be too savage, just good enough to watch movies, play some games and whatever else really.
I would use two platforms but I wouldn't dual boot choosing insted to run Windows paralells off of Mac OSX, of course if I chose to have an apple made computer several other options that are not available via the Apple corporation such as certain non-compatable hardwares would be unavailable but of course I am going to describe the perfect computer so lets imagine Apple let me choose what I want.
ReplyDeleteI think that 4gb of RAM would be sufficient for running both of these platforms as well as addidtional programs
As for storage I would like to have around 4 tb as I love my piracy and tend to use a lot of disk space.
The screen doesnt need to be huge, if i wanted to watch movies or something on a bigger screen I could simply route the signal to my projector that accompanes my Dream Computer; therefore I think a 24" widescreen should do nicely.
I cant really begine to list the programs that I would install, there would be tons of games, media programs (vlc, gom, etc), image manipuation like Adobe CS4, Non-essential web browsers like Firefox or Google chrome and many, many more.
I want a really good processor like an Intel i7 which has a top speed of around 3.33ghz
I would love a 'savage' graphics card, as said before I would be playing games and if I dont want certain games to nearly blow my graphics card up and i'm sure that an 8800 GT would be okay for most of my uses.
Well I actually don’t have a perfect PC; I only have a perfect Mac J. I don’t use a computer to game or do fully sick moves or tricks on (be honest I have better things to do with my spare time) so I don’t need a really need much.
ReplyDelete1. What platform will you run on it (windows or Mac)?
The platform/operating system I would be running on it would be Mac OS X Version 10.6.1 with Snow Leopard. I will be running this because that is what I’m running now on my Mac and it works perfectly and allows me to do all the things I need to do such as search the web, listen to music, look at Youtube videos, make videos and do my assignments on.
2. How much RAM would it have?
I would probably want a 3.06GHz DDR3 memory because this would give me more than enough memory to run my computer. There would be little if any lagging or freezing since there would be enough RAM for all of my random applications being open.
3. How much hard drive space would you like?
I would like 1TB (YEAH!). I’ve got a Mac at home, which has a total of 320GB available. I’ve had the Mac for about 3 years now and I’ve still got about 49GB left. However it’s becoming slower and takes longer to load applications and things like that. So 1TB would be wicked to have because things would run really really fast and I wouldn’t be restricted in how much music I can import into my library, how many documents I can save and how many pictures I can transfer.
4. How big will the screen be?
The screen I'll probably want to use in my ideal computer is the 24inch screen, just because all the above and the questions below are only available on this size screen. However I'm pretty comfortable with that screen because its big enough to do all my assignments and it's big enough for me to watch my DVDs and so on. Having said this though I would rather have a bigger screen since I use most of my time on the computer so it could become my TV as well.
5. What programs will you install?
I would really like to install…
Photoshop
-I would really like to have this on my computer because I love to edit pictures, create posters/brochures and design websites on Photoshop because it’s easy and simple to do.
Latest Versions of iWork (Pages, Numbers, Keynote, Tutorials and Resources)
- I would like to have iWork on my computer because it would help my assignments along. Such as Keynote would be ideal for a presentation to the class and Pages are great for paperwork assignments.
Latest Version of Microsoft Office
- Even though Pages and Keynote are more than enough to do my assignments on, it’s always good to have the Microsoft suite as well because it allows me to use the appropriate application for the assignment.
Standards that come with a Mac
-Mail, Safari, iChat, Address Book, iCal, Preview, iTunes, Time Machine, QuickTime Player, Spaces and much more
6. How fast is the processor?
My ideal processor is the latest Intel Core 2 Duo with a speed of 3.06GHz. These Macs come with a standard 6MB of shared L2 cache. This would make my Mac run extremely fast and more efficient, making me a happier with my computer functioning.
7. Do you need a savage graphics card?
I wouldn’t really want a savage graphics card but since it’s my perfect computer I would probably get the best so that means a NVIDIA GeForce GT 130 and ATI Radeon HD 4850 graphic card. This would make everything work extremely fast and look really clear.
In my perfect world i would have the ultimate gaming PC, not overdone though. Here it is:
ReplyDeleteWhat platform?
Windows 7 x64 bit
How much RAM?
8gb DDR3 RAM x4
How much hard drive space?
1TB Hard Drive
How big will the screen be?
24inch monitor
What programs will you install?
Games, Microsoft office, adobe photoshop and the plugins.
How fast is the processor?
Quad Core 3GH
What Graphics card?
Geforce GTX 285 = Uber gamer!!!
This would be my gamer com in the perfect world
Window 7 x64 bit
ReplyDelete4GB DDR3 x4
2x500GB solid state hard drive
30inch HDMI supported 1080p + action/motion flow
programs= GAMES, all other necessary software and etc.
i7 core Extreme 2.66ghz (quad core)
dual Nvidia Geforce GTF 295 - SLI (dual graphic card double+ performance)
7.2 channel sound system installed to the computer.
MY perfect beyond DREAM like computer.... for now... :)
opps left out my keyboard...
ReplyDeleteoptimus maximus keyboard pls :)
and a logitec G9 cordless gaming mouse :) tyvm

ReplyDeletewell i'd have to say my to get the best experience with my awesome dream computer i will need:
ReplyDelete- Windows 2000 for optimal performance
- Prime Octek Jaguar V motherboard to connect all my fully sick peripherals!
- A P2 400Mhz processor to run all my amazing programs and applications.
- Around 256mb of RAM to keep everything up to speed with my heavy program usage
- For my hdd i think i'll have an attache built 2gig hard drive because i dont want to go over the top and get too much space that i dont know what to do with
- I think a Geforce 2 with no dedicated RAM should be sufficient to run all the latest and koolest games these days
- One of the programs i will run is a game because i dont think there is a better game than this anywhere in the universe, tho im not sure i can remember the name entirely i think its something like war amphibians or destructo lizards or something, who knows
- i will also use programming and developing software to hack into mainframes and make my own games and stuff
- An IBM Model M5-1 Full-stroke keyboard with arrow keys and editing keypad i think will be great for all my fast typing and messaging to my friends
- The mouse will be a brand spanking new IBM track ball mouse for all of my lightning fast clicking and highlighting
- I/O ports, 2x device ports and a printer connector too attach all my external hardware and upload all my fully sick data
- I will need a standard Ethernet Lan card for my chassis which connects to my ultimately super fast DMF-336/E model D-Link Modem.
- A Built-in 35W switching power supply unit because i have so many amazingly amazing peripherals that suck up a lot of power.
- A Corometrics Fetal Monitor model 115 so i can have a large screen to do all my work on
- And the case i think i will use to pack all of this in will be a mac mini case because i like apple lol
and thats pretty much it.
My perfect PC:
ReplyDeleteMy perfect PC would firstly have a huge but simple case with space for up to 10 hard drives, such as the Antec Performance TX TX1050B. The case is not too out there, is simple, conservative and efficient when cooling.
I would love to have 10 2TB hard drives (the biggest size of 7200rpm hard drive available), but would more than likely go with 8 2TB hard drives and have 2 Western Digital Velociraptor 15000rpm drives in RAID for fast loading of programs and games.
I would have a Blu-Ray drive plus my current 3 DVD drives, for multiple DVD rips at a time and Blu-Ray playback, ripping and burning.
The CPU would be one of the new Quad Core Intel i7’s at a stock 3.0GHz, requiring a front-side bus of 1333 MHz on the motherboard.
For graphics, I would combine the power of 3 nVidia GeForce GTX 295’s in Tri-SLI, giving a ridiculous amount of power for 3D applications.
I would go with about 8GB of DDR3 1066MHz RAM, that is all that is needed for anything these days, any higher speeds of 1600 or 2000MHz are a pointless waste of money.
I would use a good Creative soundcard, probably an X-Fi or similar, and to go with this, a 7.2 surround sound Bang & Olufsen speaker setup. (The .2 is an added subwoofer)
My motherboard would not be for overclocking, just capable of supporting the above components and running problem-free. It would need lots of SATA plugs for my 14 drives. It would have to have 3 PCI-e slots for nVidia’s Tri-SLI.
And finally a good PSU of about 1000-1200W with good cable management and enough rails for all my drives and components.
I would have 3 30” Samsung OLED monitors in a desktop span setup for playing games with a 180 degree viewing angle such as one using the new CryEngine 3 and Burnout Paradise.
I would run a quad-boot on my partitioned RAID configuration of Windows XP 64-bit, OSX86 10.6 Snow Leopard, Windows 7 Ultimate and Fedora Core 11 64-bit.
Well my dream computer is definitely not a PC, I only want a Mac. The only things I really use the computer for is doing assignments, using the internet, listening to music and editing photos. But anyways this would be my dream computer (but like amy I don’t dream about computers)
ReplyDelete- MAC OS X V10.6 Snow leopard
- 4 GB memory
- 1 TB hard drive
- 8x double – layer super drive
- NVIDIA GeForce Gt 130 with 512 Mb memory
- 24v inch screen
well well well in a perfect woeld, my dream computer would really be any computer that even runs, that doesnt crash within the first ten seconds of loading. yer and the setting my room on fire, yeah nah i would love to have;
ReplyDeletemaybe just a 50 inch screen, i mean nothing much ey. and i am thinking that the computer will have to have quintupple screen viewinng, talk about super computer,
ummmm
maybe 8 gig of ram
well i dont know but jesse did mention in his one to use P2 400Mhz processor only because it is said to be the best, so i wouldnt mind that one.
and everything else, i dont know
9800gt quadcore, stuff yer
oh yeah and 123456789 tb of space
ReplyDeleteAWWWW my dream computer would definitely not be a PC but a MAC, Why? Because it it easy to use and because I do a lot of multi media work it would enhance the quality of my work which a pc would not be able to do.
ReplyDelete- MAC OS X V10.6 Snow leopard
- 4 GB memory
- 1 TB hard drive
- 8x double – layer super drive
- NVIDIA GeForce Gt 130 with 512 Mb memory
- 24v inch screen
(Hill)
ReplyDeleteWell seeing as I have an extremely small amount of computer knowledge and barely understand what you just asked me, I'd have to say...
