The Government is planning on giving us all SUPER fast CRAZY speed internet in like 8 years! Bummer its such a long ways away. BUT, imagine we got this super fast crazy speed internet tomorrow! WOO HOO! Now what? Discuss the implications for:
a) Your School
b) Your Home
c) Nationally
To give you an example, you could download a regular 5MB mp3 in about 3 seconds, or download a 10 minute YOUTUBE clip in 10 seconds.
This super fast Internet speed can mean several things other than the HUGE increase in speed. One important consideration is that instead of paying for bandwidth as a person does now but they will most likely pay for speed, this will be because the huge power of the fibre optic cables and their ability to go over a 14 GB bandwidth in a matter of minutes. This means that larger institutes or more affluent people that wish to stream extraordinary high quality movies or otherwise receive large amounts of data will be the only ones able to do so.
A) The school
This would not mean a great deal to the school as they have no real need of high speed Internet nor any use for these ludicrously high speeds. Certain unforeseeable changes may be made to Computer based classes that includes the use of higher Internet speeds. The school will be benefited similarly to businesses in the fact that hundreds or even thousands of computers will be able to access the Internet at the same time without slowing down or crippling Internet access at that particular point.
This will also mean an increase in the use of audio-visual resources for learning as they will be available over the Internet at high speeds at no extra expense and Internet based classes may be integrated into the education system.
B) The home
This giant increase in transfer speed would have many implications for the home and would open up a range of opportunities that were previously unavailable. In terms of streaming HD video, as of yet there is no currently available Internet speed that allows for this to occur properly; this speed boost means that HD movies and TV could be streamed to the computer or anything attached to the Internet meaning that the TV could be routed through the same medium as the Internet possibly providing a host more of Channels and possibly other unseen before features such as interactive channels. It is also entirely plausible that phone lines will be routed through the Internet lines as part of the Internet and TV package allowing for free or much cheaper calls that are endorsed by the ISP's as a kind of advanced VOIP.
C) The nation
This could pose a huge problem for the issues of piracy and other illicit material commonly found on the Internet. There would no doubt be a huge boost in the amount of distribution of movies and other high quality digital products over the Internet with people now being able to download the best quality movies and music available without going over their now non-existent or incredibly high bandwidths. This could mean that the actual movies, music and software industries lose a great deal of money and the governments of the world may be pleaded with to enforce bans of all torrenting and other downloading sites.
Well, this fast internet would mean that doing research in class would be much more productive. Currently, with that many computers in a schl and with not-tht-fast, doing research in class = wasting time. This super fast internet could well mean that all sought-after info' could be completed by lunch time. Anyway, wht good is super fast internet if all sites are banned?
b) The home
a lot of downloading and streaming are done at home and therefore i think this high speed internet would be of the greatest beneficial in this area. youtube streaming and music and movie download occur mostly at homes. and the most time consuming, and irrating thing is to wait out the download time and make sure no one shuts the computer accidentally less your download is canceleddd. and don't you hate it when your youtube video takes forever to load and your whole viewing experience is destroyed because the video keeps stopping to load and then restart every few seconds? well i guess this high speed internet would help alot too, along with eradicating the frustation of waiting for those chronic porn watchers. (hahaha) -.-
c) The nation
Well, this high speed internet would mean that people would become very dependant on the internet. rmb when michael jackson died (God bless his soul) and as soon as the news when out, the amount of searches relating to him almost caused Google to crash. Ha. well this fast speed internet seems to have the potential to wreck total cyber chaos :) and further more, people will begin to store their data and whtnot online. As uploading GB after GB of information will be a task of a few seconds. CYBER WORLD WOULD CRASSSSSSH.
The schools internet would be super quick and teachers and admins would have more instant time control of the students and what theyre doing
Watching video's wouldnt require going to the video store anymore even legally with itunes you could simply rent the movie take about 20sec than you can go watch the move
Warez and Torrenting and P2P would be at an all time high initially movies, music and software would be downloaded from illegal sites like crazy and it would only take a few seconds to get it. The nation would have to make it alot harder to get.
if there is really good internet, there is always a realli good price. for people to download so much stuff since we have superfast internet we would need a massage usage.. people will really abuse this internet option and slowly slowly causin internet problems. it will be so much easier to upload/download viruses. easy access to viruses. i dont like superfast internet personally, we all knew it was goin to come some day, from dial up to now but by havin superfast internet you dont have the suspense or enjoyment of waiting for what you may be downloadin. HAAHAHA! well there will be more and more people downloadin from torrents and limewire etc. a) Your School for school it would be way awesome though, like only for schools. we wouldnt have to wait so long especially with our computers. there wouldnt be people complaing about lagginess.. everyone could get there stuff done faster since researchin would take minutes. from hours.
b) Your Home dont need fast internet at home but it would be awesome though. all the online games you could play HAHA!!! everyone would be usin skype and msn to talk to ppl, webcams, no more telephones and stuff. everyone would have webcam conference.
c) Nationally it would be really expensive, should need a extra wirin maybe then everyone would have to change there wirelin at home, no more telstra wirin and change to superman wiring...
Sounds like a pipe dream, but I'll bite. Though its seems highly likely that government have been doing more than giving each other piggy back rides for a while now. Any way IF internet becomes that fast and IF services don't charge ridiculous prices for it, hell will most likley break like this;
a) School Server computers have a tendency to lag like anything, but with this super-duper-mega-beta-hyper-internet-y-thing-a-mah-jig, Surfing the web will be a breeze and can take anything you give 'em. I'd say something about downloading things, but considering nothing like that happens in school it'd be for a lost cause.
b) The Home As soon as you've hit a limit, no matter how quick you're going your going to be slowed right back down again, meaning the time with this powerful internet will be significantley shortened. In the meatime enjoy the simple entertainment of Youtube watching and suscribing to harryboy50, and unlawfuuly download poorly ripped music tunes.
c)The Nation Aswell as being a load of wait for this technology, it's going to be really expensive. There isn't much to say about the nation, as it is part schools and homes, and nothing changes if I mentioned either.
A) School Fast Internet at school would greatly increase the amount of work that can be done in class (like assignments and so forth). The only thing that would affect the Internet would be the speed of the computer you are using. It would help teachers download videos and other media for there classes quick and easily. For students that need use video sites such as YouTube it would be great! We would be able to stream a video in a matter of seconds, which would help use all to be more productive. Gmail would open a lot faster which would help us in our A.I.T and I.T classes due to the fact that with the screen shots we have to send a quite large and usually take a while to send.
B) Home Fast Internet at home would mean that playing games, watching videos and even listen to music online can be done fast and with no interruption. At the moment with our Internet we can watch videos, play games and listen to music but it lags and takes a while to stream. If you are playing a high performance game such as Team fortress two or even WoW (yes i know its not high performance, But have you tired buying something in Orgrimmar or Stormwind? Just to find that there is that much lag you cant?). Well with this new Internet lag will be a thing of the past! When listening to music online you wont have to worry about it ever stopping or when watching a video you wound have to wait for it to stream! You would also be able to watch all your videos in HD which would be great! The only problem would be that people will miss use this speed to download illegal material such as music, movies and even games. Things like MSN and Myspace wont be affected as much due tot he fact that they load fine now as it is (Myspace is a bit slow I've been told)
C) Nationally Having fast Internet nation wide would greatly increase the amount of piracy that goes on. People will use this speed to download illegal movies, games and music. because of the speed people would only have to wait about 10 minutes for a full movie or 15 minutes for a full game, They would also be able to download multiple items at one time. Also because so many people will be using this, there is a chance that there will be lots of problems with the Internet. The Internet will most likely cut out (Overload) due to the fact that so many people will be using it to watch HD movies, play games and download. But I believe they will have caps that stop this from happening. It would also greatly help people communicate to each other in different sates for example if a company in Perth needed to speak to a branch in Melbourne they could do it over the Internet instead of using the phone. You could have conferences over the Internet using programs like Skype, Because of the fast Internet it would probably make the viewing clear with little to no lag.
When you think about the extreme speed you need to remember that some people use the internet for bad things like hacking and such which adds a massive negative.
The Home In the home people can have there personal information and files stolen, which can lead to loss of money for personal companies as well. Although the speed would be great, but what would it be used for downloading videos, music and viewing WebPages in mere seconds, and what would be the cost from the companies, right now the only internet service available to me is a 5GB wireless liberty account from Telstra for a rip-off of 89.95! Which also raises the issue of coverage, will my grandparents in Bunbury be able to get it, what about friends in Geraldton and Albany. Will there be a specific provider and a limit to how much we can download. For the home the use will be unproductive and a waste of time. The School But in the schools there are different issues, again the problem of hackers destroying the network and students valuable work which may lead to late assignments and other problems. What about the usefulness, we aren’t allowed to use Youtube because of the amount of downloads it uses and what about the computers, will these be able to cope with the downloads. Nation Wide Nationally there is not a lot of positives either, Cyber-crime will rise and companies will lose money from it, we may need to upfate ALL computers and therefore costing the consumer more. One company may only have access to the internet and therefore put other providers out of business costing the economy more.
A) SCHOOL W you will have to take into avvount how well will the internet run as a server. how will it go if there were heaps of people using thee internet at once wuld it still be very fast or would it slow down to the ordenary speed.
b) home fast interntet at home owuld mean that you would be able to do games videos and much more at a really fast speed and it would be quicker and easier for the hole family because they wooul do what they wanted to do quicker and so then the hole family would do what they wanted to do quicker so then there would be no more arguments. you would be able to do assingments quicker and easier and it would only take about half an hour to do your Research easly.
c) nationaly with fast internet for the hole nation this wold mean that people would get away with a hole lot more like downloading games movies and things like that because they would download it and it would be to late for anyone to stop it. if they had super fast internet for the hole nation that owuld mean that people would be able to hake into other peoples computers in a matter of seconds.
so there are a lot of naegativs and there are a couple a possitives in having super fast internet
YAY that would be awesome! We could look at youtube, search up stuff and download music really fast so we won’t need to stop and wait.
a) For school, super fast internet is great, if it was to help with school work, or the loading of sites we need to visit. It can help with the need of Fast internet so our work can be done faster.
b) For home, it will definitely help with our loading of internet for visiting or downloading of videos on youtube if we watch our videos etc. It would be fast for us to do what we want.
c) Nationally, internet will be provided to nations but if everyone used it at once, it would slow down everyone’s internet, as for super fast internet, no matter how much everyone else is using or doing online, everyone else won’t be effected because there is enough to go around for everyone to use.
Downloading videos to watch would be great, fast loading in just a few seconds instead of slow internets that loads in minutes than seconds, would be better for everyone who loves the internet.
Downloading music will finish in just fewer seconds than normal downloading where you have to wait for minutes to finish downloading to your computer. But with super fast internet is makes all our computer world super good!
our school would not be effected much by these new speeds, after all, what do you do at school that requires you to download anything at all? but at home, the new speeds will lead to significantly faster browsing speeds, a huge bonus for everyone. the quality of everything will be improved, like youtube would remove its compression standards for all videos, allowing you to watch high def vids that you would not see before these speeds were introduced. though with these speeds, there would be an explosion of pirated movies, torrents, illegaly downloaded games etc. this would severly cripple movie companies, tv shows, games producers and music producers, putting many of them either out of pocket or out of business. also, due to the outcry these producers would make over the explosion of pirated media, governments might also monitor and put filters on internet service providers, which would stop pirated media alltoughether and further increase the "big brother" aspect of governments control over us.
I think that the concept of having 'superman fast internet' for schools and businesses and anything along these lines across Australia would be totally awesome. Considering that some businesses and schools have slower internet connections making it harder for people to connect with the internet based on their current locations which ultimately decreases productivity AND sustainability. However, superman fast internet for homes could cause a lot of unnecessary trouble.
1) Schools There really are two sides to having superman fast internet connections is schools. The down side is that in school all computers are attached to the same server. If too many students are trying to access the internet roughly around the same time, it might cause the computer gateway to crash which would trigger the entire school server to follow suit. The bonus to 'superman fast internet' connection is imaging how much faster it would be for students and staff to access information, data and research without the hassle of waiting for website pages to 'load-up'
2) Businesses I think that 'superman fast internet' connection would mostly benefit businesses. After all it is businesses and organisation that use computers and internet connections, more so that family homes and schools. Faster internet connections for businesses would definitely improve businesses and organisation's productivity and sustainability, particularly for companies that rely on computers.
3) Homes 'Superman fast internet' connection speeds are so not needed in family homes. If given the opportunity to faster internet connections, the rate of illegal downloading would definitely increase which a lot of moral and ethical issues in society. And the basic home computer or laptop was probably not designed to deal with lightning-fast internet speeds; it would be more likely cause the computer to crash and burn faster.
Having super fast internet would be a big advantage for every internet user. Even though this is to happen in the future, everyone has something to look forward to. Having this super fast internet can implicate problems as well as having advantages. This could include problems with copyright because it is much easier to download a movie without having to wait. But the most advantages would be that internet would be used by more people because it is faster and easier to access.
1) Schools Effectivly this would be an advantage for schools, seeing as all school computers are mostly connected to one network this could be an advantage for schools.
2) Businesses I think super fast internet is needed in a business, the reason for this is because it would make the business run more effectivly and smoothly.
3) Homes Fast internet is needed in the standard home, not for all people but some people prefer it like gamers who require to have a better internet conenction speed. For the regular user fast internet is always an advantage.
This internet upgrade will be awesome, but... it will also increase the amount of downloads. This will make a huge impact on the economics of sales because everyone will just download media or software instead of buying it authentically. It comes with its advantages and its disadvantages, it would load a youtube video in a few seconds, but as i said, it would increase downloads. It will also impact:
1) schools - This super fast internet would be awesome for schools because they have internet filters, which filter out download website such as mininova or youtube. It would be awesome to get your needed information to load in a few seconds. Also for internet work such as edsonic or ICDL, it would load in no time!
2) Businesses - This would be similar to the schools, it would be awesome for doing work but it would have filters to block out websites. It would make the business run smoothly and a lot more effectivly for all workers.
3) Nationally - It would be awesome to have that crazy internet at home, but at the same time it would increase the amount of people that download files illegally off the internet. Because of the speed of the internet , it would take about 10 minutes to download something 10gb big. It would be crazy.
A) Your School The implications of having really fast internet connections at school are both negative and positive. For example if a student wanted to access his/her work from Google Docs or even search the web would only have to wait a few seconds for the internet to connect him/her to what they need. How about all the online interactive learning lessons? If faster speed connections were available students could learn online, without having a teacher. This could be big however that is another topic but the context would apply to this question. No doubt learning would go online via audio links or video links because internet connections will be faster at no extra cost. Also by having a faster internet connection it would mean less time would be wasted on researching/accessing, which would allow more time for actually getting some work done. However having said all of this is it is important to realise the negatives of faster internet connection at school. Firstly more time will be spent on going onto time wasting websites such as game websites or even video websites such as YouTube. With a slower internet connection students tend to stray away from sites such as YouTube because it takes too long to load the video but if the internet connection got faster it would mean students can access the videos quicker, might even pass the teacher's watching eye because its that quick. This would lead to teachers having put more effort in making sure the children aren’t miss-using the new privilege, which at times can be annoying especially when the teacher wants to do their own work, not monitor student's movements on the internet.
B) At Home With regards to having super fast internet connections at home is AMAZING! Not only can I access the internet faster I can download faster! Great but there are another 6 billion and more people that will be thinking the same thing. By having a super fast internet connection at home would make way for an astronomical increase in illegal downloading such as downloading movies, song and software. Since the computer world would be wrecked with super virus and the like. We would expect that PC users would convert to Macs by doing this we can expect computer hackers to start to make virus and the like for Macs. All I can say is no way! Imagine the poor artists who make the movies, songs and software. All of their hard earned money would be robbed from underneath them and they wouldn’t be able to do anything about it. People wouldn’t go to the movies anymore because why waste the $12 odd on a movie when we can all watch it on a big screen in the comfort of our homes? But on the upside doing things such as buying things online (legally) would be a breeze and could possibly see shops go bust because they won’t be able to keep up with the influx of online shoppers. Such as Coles have a very interactive online shopping option, they have reported that their online business has generated more profit for them compared to their retail shops!
C) The Nationally Nationally Australia’s IT and similar industries would see a massive boost in job, which means more money will be made by the use of technology. How wonderful since our economy really needs those FEW extra pennies to pay of their $64 billion dollar stimulus loan. In all seriousness it would be great for Australia because we could be seen as the technology nation. All technology revolves around the internet such as robots; many of the designs would have been researched on the internet. So with faster internet could mean faster technology advances in Australia. Instead of being the land down under we could be seen as the land ontoper . On the flip side Australia could be the result of a major virus problem that could see new means taken into consideration such as more expensive virus protection software (that will chew up space and RAM speed) cost Australian people $$$$$$$. With more power comes more responsibility.
WOW, SUPER CRAZY FAST INTERNET... This will be the best thing thats happened in a long time. From tomorrow I’ll be able to download what I want really fast. Just imagine what this would mean for school, at home or even nationally. At school it would be amazing with doing school work and assignments, getting pics from the net, it would be awesome not having to wait for the pages to load. The only thing to do now is to get rid of those stupid slow computers in all the classrooms, they won’t be able to handle this fast internet. Emailing throughout the school community would be such an effective and fast way to communicate with other teachers or students. Sending assignments through the net would be commonly used by students. As for home, mamma bear would be pleased to know that Facebook will not be slow, and she’ll be able to take internet shopping to a whole new level with such fast internet. The dad would be pleased to know he can work on the stock market without any slow internet happenings and be able to watch business videos over the net. The brother would be happy to download he’s surf videos really fast. As for Clinton, he’ll be happy to download stuff really fast. Nationally this would appeal to all computer uses, computer based jobs would rely on such fast internet, it may make the workload at work go a lot faster and employees would be able to go home a lot earlier than other days.
A) For school, this crazy fast internet would help in allowing you to research for assignments instead of waiting ages for webpages to load, therefore allowing for better productivity. It would allow for hundreds of people being able to use the internet anywhere around the school, all at the same time without having any affect on the overall speed. It will be helpful for IT and digital media teachers who may want to show their class a video online relating to the lesson. Aside from that there really isn't much more use for it for schools.
B) For home it would be extremely handy. Youtube videos would load HEAPS quicker and you could have many videos loading at the same time without worrying about your whole internet slowing down tons. On that point you could have an endless number of tabs open, for whatever reason, and it also wouldn't affect the overall speed. Webpages would load so much quicker, a page with flash or audio on it would load almost instantly, where as now you might have to wait a few minutes. Downloading music, games, movies and whatever else would be a breeze, and again, you could download multiple things at the same time without it slowing down! Also while you are downloading a movie, you could load up a few videos on Youtube, check your emails, go on MySpace, all within a matter of seconds, and you wouldn't be slowed down by having to wait for things to load.
C) Nationally, this plan would be extremely expensive for starters; surely the Government won’t just give this out free of charge, taxes are likely to rise and to by or switch over to this new, super-fast system will most likely cost people a fairly large amount too. But in the long run this could be money well spent as many people will be able to benefit from it. Other than that, I can’t really think of much more for the nation’s side of things.
Implications for our school • Being able to access the web faster • Being able to research more in a smaller period of time • The faster the internet is the faster you can get your assignments done quicker. Implications for us at home • Downloading music, movies and games would become easier and obviously faster (which is illegal) which is bad • You can get more work done in a shorter period of time and this would create more time for things that you want to do • I don’t think it would matter who you are gamer or otherwise if my internet connection speeds up I’m not complaining, I mean have you heard any one shout “oh the convenience of it all - MY internet is fast”. • You could open heaps and heaps of WebPages and tabs and your internet wouldn’t slow down, so you could be researching a science and human bio assignment AT THE SAME TIME. Implications for a Nation • This would mean that even though some people couldn’t afford a fast internet connection they know have it. • Everyone is treated as an equal in this case which I think is so totally awesome.
Superman fast internet is a must have for everyone. honestly if u think about it, with the technology we have now days, everything are about "details, quality, packing, content." all of these comes with a price, and yes that is the SIZE of the FILE. they are huge man, cmon look at it, go on the internet and look at a movie, to download a HD movie, that alone is about 3GB +... with the speed that the average australia have now... 3GB would take DAYYYYYYSSSS to download. i mean wow look at america and japan. their internet are beyond superhuman fast... its like GOD LIKE fast.... and they dont have a lame ass problem about "bandwidth" that limits the use of your internet per month without paying extra cost or a really high costing plan for internet. what a joke right?
A) School, duuuude super man fast internet would help the student to achieve their assignments/research much much much much faster... instead of some dodgy slow internet that takes like 5 minutes to fully load up a page or download a file. a superhuman fast internet could make it in like 2 seconds, plus decreasing load time = increasing work load. student will get more work done with faster internet speed, more work done and higher/ better quality works becaue they save time from being wasted by using a faster internet.
B)HOME... oh cmon.. WHO WANTS SLOW DIAL UPS AT HOME?! ARE U KIDDING ME?! Superhuman fast internet is a must have for home users since most home users now days are about download download download. download games, download musics, download movies... etc etc. superhuman fast internet = GOOOOOOOODDD :)
C)Nationally? erm... well this could help boosting up the whole country's internet speed... and by boosting up the country's internet speed, our country will no longer be far behind interms of technology. Why? well technology are advancing at a amazing speed no days and without the equivalant internet speed, how are we suppose to receive information on time and gear our self up for the new coming technology? so it could help... how ever the cost might be a reallll big problem.
A) School Having fast internet at school would be fantastic because you could get so much more research done instead of having to wait 5 min for every single page to load before you can do anything. It means less time would be wasted snd you would get a lot more done. This also means you could send and receive emails a lot faster so that would be a very popular way of communicating throughout the school.
B) Home Having fast internet at home also means we can get our research done faster. It means we could receive emails faster. Facebook and myspce will be easier to use. And if people play games or download music , movies and software it wouldn’t take so long.
C) Nationally One major problem with having superfast internet is that downloading music, movies and software would be so much faster and therefore there would be thousands more people downloading and millions more downloads. But other then that superfast internet would be great in the workplace because everyone could get their jobs done a lot faster
I think it all depends on how much we actually get to download, and whether or not this free internet comes with filters. It might be fast, but if we can only download a certain amount, it just means we can hit our allotted cap faster, which will suck big time. If filters are introduced, less freedom on the internet stops us from piracy and some online games which most people take for granted.
a) Your School School, nothing will change, we will still be blocked from doing anything worthwhile with this new fast internet, we might be able to load our homework faster or use gmail quickly, but that's about it. Productivity may be increased, but until schools learn to take advantage of all the features of the internet other than research, it won't be that good.
b) Your Home If filters are not introduced and we have more or unlimited downloads, I will need to be buying more hard drives for all the stuff I'll be downloading. If filters are introduced, it means my usual piracy behaviors will cease, and if the only advantage is speed (because download amounts arent much better) then it will just make youtube quicker and and general surfing faster. When downloading movies and music from iTunes etc, this will also be faster. Ping times for online gaming should increase when using fiber optic cables, thus connection quality and speed to other countries will increase.
c) Nationally Our country will become known for it's super fast, national internet connections, Australia may become involved in more internet hosting than it is now and generally we will be a more connected, tech savvy country statistically and literally.
Having super fast internet would sure be great for everyone well except the third world nations. Anyway, it would make everyones downloading and internet lives so much better. Like movies, music, games... would all be like in a snap.
1) School: having this super fast internet in schools would help the students to finsh the students assignments and research and no lagging or jamming! How awesome! Also there would be a super short time for the programs to load and for it to work smoothly. But this would be a bad thing because teachers might take advantage of this and overload students with work.
2) Home: For super fast internet in homes, it would help moms and dads to finish their work quickly. For the children, they can talk and socialize with their friends much better like on facebook, myspace or online games like CS, Maple Story or WOW. There would also be unlimited and fast downloads of music, movies, videos or programs so they would need a bigger hard drive. Also websites like youtube would in a blink of an eye.
3) Nationally: Well, first of Australia would be famous for this super fast internet and terrorist might want to take this away from us. But the good thing is everyone would be happy, all except the government because there would be a major increase of downloading and would probably cut this fast internet off with exceptions.
a)school -well i tell ya what it would be soooo good if we did get superman fast internet, maybe we could actually get some worked done on time and not have to wait for the server to load it up for us. i bet that mr street would love it, all the more time to get some better lans going at the school again. b)the home -at home i would love it, it would beat this pathetic speed that i am waiting to use on this laptop. i really would love for something to atleast load within 25 seconds, that would make ky day. c)this crazy speed internet, may be super awesome, butthere is a negative side to it too. that people have a better chance of downloading illegal files.like movies, music, and pictures. lol but yer, it might help out some businesses, but then you do need good computers to run such high speed.
a) Your School The faster the internet, the faster we could complete our assignments. This would be an amazing advantage. I can't even count the amount of times I've had to wait for nearly a whole module just to get the information I need from the painfully slow internet. If the time spent doing research was cut down then it would give students more time to actually write their work.
b) Your Home =o =o =o That would be amazing. My home internet is really slow and it's quite annoying expecially when trying to talk to someone on msn or facebook. It's also irratating to have to wait for videos, songs and pages to load. Having to wait wastes precious time that could be spent on more productive things. One of the biggest grievensess of having a slow computer is when you are running late and need to check what time a bus or train comes, but as a result of having slow internet that stretches a simple 1 minute task to 10 minutes, you have to run your unhealthy little legs quite embarrasingly all the way to the bus stop just to clamber aboard a bus full of younger public schoolers all huffing and puffing and sweaty... ewww =[
c) Nationally Well obviously having fast internet nationally would be really great. It would help people run their businessess more efficiently, or complete their work faster leaving more time for things like family or friends.
ReplyDeleteA) The school
Seriously.
ReplyDeletea) The school.
ReplyDeleteWatching video's wouldnt require going to the video store anymore even legally with itunes you could simply rent the movie take about 20sec than you can go watch the move
ReplyDeletea) Your School
for school it would be way awesome though, like only for schools. we wouldnt have to wait so long especially with our computers. there wouldnt be people complaing about lagginess.. everyone could get there stuff done faster since researchin would take minutes. from hours.
b) Your Home
dont need fast internet at home but it would be awesome though. all the online games you could play HAHA!!! everyone would be usin skype and msn to talk to ppl, webcams, no more telephones and stuff. everyone would have webcam conference.
c) Nationally
it would be really expensive, should need a extra wirin maybe then everyone would have to change there wirelin at home, no more telstra wirin and change to superman wiring...

ReplyDeleteSounds like a pipe dream, but I'll bite. Though its seems highly likely that government have been doing more than giving each other piggy back rides for a while now. Any way IF internet becomes that fast and IF services don't charge ridiculous prices for it, hell will most likley break like this;
ReplyDeletea) School
Server computers have a tendency to lag like anything, but with this super-duper-mega-beta-hyper-internet-y-thing-a-mah-jig, Surfing the web will be a breeze and can take anything you give 'em. I'd say something about downloading things, but considering nothing like that happens in school it'd be for a lost cause.
b) The Home
As soon as you've hit a limit, no matter how quick you're going your going to be slowed right back down again, meaning the time with this powerful internet will be significantley shortened. In the meatime enjoy the simple entertainment of Youtube watching and suscribing to harryboy50, and unlawfuuly download poorly ripped music tunes.
c)The Nation
Aswell as being a load of wait for this technology, it's going to be really expensive. There isn't much to say about the nation, as it is part schools and homes, and nothing changes if I mentioned either.
It's a Superman fast Internet
ReplyDeleteA) School
Fast Internet at school would greatly increase the amount of work that can be done in class (like assignments and so forth).
B) Home
Fast Internet at home would mean that playing games, watching videos and even listen to music online can be done fast and with no interruption.
C) Nationally
Having fast Internet nation wide would greatly increase the amount of piracy that goes on.
ReplyDeleteThe Home
In the home people can have there personal information and files stolen, which can lead to loss of money for personal companies as well.
The School
But in the schools there are different issues, again the problem of hackers destroying the network and students valuable work which may lead to late assignments and other problems. What about the usefulness, we aren’t allowed to use Youtube because of the amount of downloads it uses and what about the computers, will these be able to cope with the downloads.
Nation Wide
Nationally there is not a lot of positives either, Cyber-crime will rise and companies will lose money from it, we may need to upfate ALL computers and therefore costing the consumer more. One company may only have access to the internet and therefore put other providers out of business costing the economy more.
A) SCHOOL
ReplyDeleteW you will have to take into avvount how well will the internet run as a server. how will it go if there were heaps of people using thee internet at once wuld it still be very fast or would it slow down to the ordenary speed.
b) home
fast interntet at home owuld mean that you would be able to do games videos and much more at a really fast speed and it would be quicker and easier for the hole family because they wooul do what they wanted to do quicker and so then the hole family would do what they wanted to do quicker so then there would be no more arguments. you would be able to do assingments quicker and easier and it would only take about half an hour to do your Research easly.
c) nationaly
with fast internet for the hole nation this wold mean that people would get away with a hole lot more like downloading games movies and things like that because they would download it and it would be to late for anyone to stop it.
if they had super fast internet for the hole nation that owuld mean that people would be able to hake into other peoples computers in a matter of seconds.
so there are a lot of naegativs and there are a couple a possitives in having super fast internet
YAY that would be awesome! We could look at youtube, search up stuff and download music really fast so we won’t need to stop and wait.
ReplyDeletea) For school, super fast internet is great, if it was to help with school work, or the loading of sites we need to visit.
ReplyDeleteI think that the concept of having 'superman fast internet' for schools and businesses and anything along these lines across Australia would be totally awesome. Considering that some businesses and schools have slower internet connections making it harder for people to connect with the internet based on their current locations which ultimately decreases productivity AND sustainability. However, superman fast internet for homes could cause a lot of unnecessary trouble.
ReplyDelete1) Schools
There really are two sides to having superman fast internet connections is schools. The down side is that in school all computers are attached to the same server. If too many students are trying to access the internet roughly around the same time, it might cause the computer gateway to crash which would trigger the entire school server to follow suit. The bonus to 'superman fast internet' connection is imaging how much faster it would be for students and staff to access information, data and research without the hassle of waiting for website pages to 'load-up'
2) Businesses
I think that 'superman fast internet' connection would mostly benefit businesses. After all it is businesses and organisation that use computers and internet connections, more so that family homes and schools. Faster internet connections for businesses would definitely improve businesses and organisation's productivity and sustainability, particularly for companies that rely on computers.
3) Homes
'Superman fast internet' connection speeds are so not needed in family homes.
O.o
Having super fast internet would be a big advantage for every internet user. Even though this is to happen in the future, everyone has something to look forward to. Having this super fast internet can implicate problems as well as having advantages. This could include problems with copyright because it is much easier to download a movie without having to wait. But the most advantages would be that internet would be used by more people because it is faster and easier to access.
ReplyDelete1) Schools
Effectivly this would be an advantage for schools, seeing as all school computers are mostly connected to one network this could be an advantage for schools.
2) Businesses
I think super fast internet is needed in a business, the reason for this is because it would make the business run more effectivly and smoothly.
3) Homes
Fast internet is needed in the standard home, not for all people but some people prefer it like gamers who require to have a better internet conenction speed.
ReplyDelete1) schools -
This super fast internet would be awesome for schools because they have internet filters, which filter out download website such as mininova or youtube. It would be awesome to get your needed information to load in a few seconds. Also for internet work such as edsonic or ICDL, it would load in no time!
2) Businesses -
This would be similar to the schools, it would be awesome for doing work but it would have filters to block out websites. It would make the business run smoothly and a lot more effectivly for all workers.
3) Nationally -
It would be awesome to have that crazy internet at home, but at the same time it would increase the amount of people that download files illegally off the internet. Because of the speed of the internet , it would take about 10 minutes to download something 10gb big. It would be crazy.
A) Your School
ReplyDeleteThe implications of having really fast internet connections at school are both negative and positive.
B) At Home
With regards to having super fast internet connections at home is AMAZING!
C) The Nationally
Nationally Australia’s IT and similar industries would see a massive boost in job, which means more money will be made by the use of technology.
ReplyDeleteThis will be the best thing thats happened in a long time.
ReplyDeleteB) For home it would be extremely handy.
Implications for our school
ReplyDelete• Being able to access the web faster
• Being able to research more in a smaller period of time
• The faster the internet is the faster you can get your assignments done quicker.
Implications for us at home
• Downloading music, movies and games would become easier and obviously faster (which is illegal) which is bad
• You can get more work done in a shorter period of time and this would create more time for things that you want to do
• I don’t think it would matter who you are gamer or otherwise if my internet connection speeds up I’m not complaining, I mean have you heard any one shout “oh the convenience of it all - MY internet is fast”.
• You could open heaps and heaps of WebPages and tabs and your internet wouldn’t slow down, so you could be researching a science and human bio assignment AT THE SAME TIME.
Implications for a Nation
• This would mean that even though some people couldn’t afford a fast internet connection they know have it.
ReplyDeleteA) School, duuuude super man fast internet would help the student to achieve their assignments/research much much much much faster... instead of some dodgy slow internet that takes like 5 minutes to fully load up a page or download a file. a superhuman fast internet could make it in like 2 seconds, plus decreasing load time = increasing work load.
student will get more work done with faster internet speed, more work done and higher/ better quality works becaue they save time from being wasted by using a faster internet.
B)HOME...
A) School
ReplyDeleteHaving fast internet at school would be fantastic because you could get so much more research done instead of having to wait 5 min for every single page to load before you can do anything. It means less time would be wasted snd you would get a lot more done. This also means you could send and receive emails a lot faster so that would be a very popular way of communicating throughout the school.
B) Home
Having fast internet at home also means we can get our research done faster. It means we could receive emails faster. Facebook and myspce will be easier to use. And if people play games or download music , movies and software it wouldn’t take so long.
C) Nationally
One major problem with having superfast internet is that downloading music, movies and software would be so much faster and therefore there would be thousands more people downloading and millions more downloads. But other then that superfast internet would be great in the workplace because everyone could get their jobs done a lot faster
I think it all depends on how much we actually get to download, and whether or not this free internet comes with filters.
ReplyDeleteIt might be fast, but if we can only download a certain amount, it just means we can hit our allotted cap faster, which will suck big time.
If filters are introduced, less freedom on the internet stops us from piracy and some online games which most people take for granted.
a) Your School
School, nothing will change, we will still be blocked from doing anything worthwhile with this new fast internet, we might be able to load our homework faster or use gmail quickly, but that's about it. Productivity may be increased, but until schools learn to take advantage of all the features of the internet other than research, it won't be that good.
b) Your Home
If filters are not introduced and we have more or unlimited downloads, I will need to be buying more hard drives for all the stuff I'll be downloading. If filters are introduced, it means my usual piracy behaviors will cease, and if the only advantage is speed (because download amounts arent much better) then it will just make youtube quicker and and general surfing faster. When downloading movies and music from iTunes etc, this will also be faster. Ping times for online gaming should increase when using fiber optic cables, thus connection quality and speed to other countries will increase.
c) Nationally
Our country will become known for it's super fast, national internet connections, Australia may become involved in more internet hosting than it is now and generally we will be a more connected, tech savvy country statistically and literally.
Having super fast internet would sure be great for everyone well except the third world nations. Anyway, it would make everyones downloading and internet lives so much better. Like movies, music, games... would all be like in a snap.
ReplyDelete1) School:
having this super fast internet in schools would help the students to finsh the students assignments and research and no lagging or jamming! How awesome! Also there would be a super short time for the programs to load and for it to work smoothly. But this would be a bad thing because teachers might take advantage of this and overload students with work.
2) Home:
For super fast internet in homes, it would help moms and dads to finish their work quickly.
3) Nationally:
Well, first of Australia would be famous for this super fast internet and terrorist might want to take this away from us. But the good thing is everyone would be happy, all except the government because there would be a major increase of downloading and would probably cut this fast internet off with exceptions.
a)school
ReplyDelete-well i tell ya what it would be soooo good if we did get superman fast internet, maybe we could actually get some worked done on time and not have to wait for the server to load it up for us. i bet that mr street would love it, all the more time to get some better lans going at the school again.
b)the home
-at home i would love it, it would beat this pathetic speed that i am waiting to use on this laptop. i really would love for something to atleast load within 25 seconds, that would make ky day.
c)this crazy speed internet, may be super awesome, butthere is a negative side to it too. that people have a better chance of downloading illegal files.like movies, music, and pictures. lol but yer, it might help out some businesses, but then you do need good computers to run such high speed.
(hill)
ReplyDeletea) Your School
The faster the internet, the faster we could complete our assignments. This would be an amazing advantage. I can't even count the amount of times I've had to wait for nearly a whole module just to get the information I need from the painfully slow internet. If the time spent doing research was cut down then it would give students more time to actually write their work.
b) Your Home
=o =o =o
That would be amazing. My home internet is really slow and it's quite annoying expecially when trying to talk to someone on msn or facebook. It's also irratating to have to wait for videos, songs and pages to load. Having to wait wastes precious time that could be spent on more productive things. One of the biggest grievensess of having a slow computer is when you are running late and need to check what time a bus or train comes, but as a result of having slow internet that stretches a simple 1 minute task to 10 minutes, you have to run your unhealthy little legs quite embarrasingly all the way to the bus stop just to clamber aboard a bus full of younger public schoolers all huffing and puffing and sweaty... ewww =[
c) Nationally
Well obviously having fast internet nationally would be really great. It would help people run their businessess more efficiently, or complete their work faster leaving more time for things like family or friends.
